Amidst the racial and economic turmoil of the times, he writes poetry as a means to escape the intolerance of his hometown and the inflexibility of his traditional father. But when a classmate introduces him to the music of “the Boss,” Javed sees parallels to his working-class life in Springsteen’s powerful lyrics. As Javed discovers a cathartic outlet for his own pent-up dreams, he also begins to find the courage to express himself in his own unique voice.

    Very inspirational movie. I never know bruce. I broke in to tears a lot more when i watch the movie. It just inspired me never to stop

    The moment when the neighbour comes to the door with one of our hero’s poems… “Forty years ago me and my friends marched into Europe to fight men wearing swastikas, today I see young men on the streets of Luton wearing them.” Another forty years on and the children of those young men are wearing those swastikas but just on the streets of Luton but across the world.
