All of you know that we, at Women and Their Pretties, are huge Disney fans. We blog about Disney any chance that we get because, well, it's fun to talk about. Being a blogger in Florida, I try to attend the best events around. Last June for my anniversary, I went to the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Orlando, Florida for an I Love Lucy show! It was absolutely incredible. The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts is hands down, the most beautiful venue that I've ever visited. If there's ever an event at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, I try my best to go. I will write up a review about this venue soon because I will be attending the Orlando Ballet's performance of Beauty and The Beast (On May 1st, 2016)!
Belle is my favorite Disney princess, so attending this is going to make my childhood self-jump for joy. Plus, I think every girl wanted to be a ballerina at some point in her life. This will be my first time seeing a live ballet, so I am pretty stoked! After stalking the Orlando Ballet's social media, watching videos about this performance, and reading all about their talent, I just know that I am in for a performance of a lifetime.
Orlando Ballet is proud to present an imaginative interpretation of the time-honored tale of Beauty and the Beast. From the Beast’s imposing castle, to the enchanted forest, Beauty and the Beast vividly illustrates the transformative power of love through striking set design, inventive choreography and a cast of fanciful characters.
At the age of 20, Arcadian Broad, one of Orlando Ballet’s principal dancers, staged and choreographed this full length production. Additionally, he composed the live music provided by the Central Florida Community Arts orchestra. Arcadian was first discovered when he competed on NBC’s America’s Got Talent seven years ago at the age of 13 and made it to the semi-finals. Soon after his run on the AGT, he appeared on TheEllen DeGeneres Show.
You can join in on the fun, too! Just follow the hashtag #OrlandoBallet to see how much fun myself and all of the other attendees are having! You don't have to be in Orlando to feel the love, but if you are, visit their website to learn how you can get tickets!
