If you're looking to spend the holidays at Disney, don't skip out on Disney's Candlelight Processional at Epcot. It's truly an experience like no other. This was my second year attending and it was just as beautiful as last year. I'd skip Disney all year just to attend the holiday festivities at the end. I think Disney's Candlelight Processional is one of the least talked about events and I want to change that. So, if you tinkering around with attending or not – I'll help push you over the edge.7 Things to Expect from the Disney Candlelight Processional at Epcot

7 Things to Expect from the Disney Candlelight Processional at Epcot

1. A telling of the history of Christmas

The Disney Candlelight Processional at Epcot is all about the story behind Christmas. We're all used to opening gifts and eating huge meals, but we sometimes forget where the spirit of Christmas came from. It's important for you to walk into this fully understanding that this will be a biblical telling of the meaning of Christmas. Whether you believe in the reason for the season or you don't at all, I promise this is a piece of the Disney festivities you don't want to forget. Don't worry – you will not feel like you're sitting in church or like religion is being shoved down your throat. It's fun, impressive, and beautiful.

2. Celebrity Narrators

Kurt Russell – 2017 Candlelight Processional

I biggest hype about this event is the celebrity narrators! This is what sets Walt Disney World apart from other parks. They always go big! From November 24th to December 30th, Epcot lines up celebrity narrators to tell the story of Christmas. This year I attended the Kurt Russell appearance and last year I attended the Neil Patrick Harris reading. Both were absolutely incredible and a bit surreal! These celebrity narrators range from actors, to musicians, to olympians. Since this isn't a special ticketed event (only need Epcot General Admission) the seating is first come – first serve. That's why you should grab a Candlelight Processional Dining Package.

3. Special Seating/Dining Package

If you grab one of the dining packages, you are guaranteed seating at the event and you get a nice holiday meal to celebrate! I highly recommend taking advantage of one of these packages because the you'll need to set aside hours to get a seat at the processional, much less a prime viewing seat.

4. Live Orchestra and Choir

Even more spectacular than the celebrity narrator, is the live orchestra and choir. This is a 50-piece orchestra filled with the most talented musicians you'll ever see. The massed choir contains singers of all ages who aim to impress! They will bring tears to your eyes and cheers to your vacation as they sing all of your favorite holiday songs! It's actually fun to hear the story behind each song from the narrator. I promise you will not want to miss this!

5. Festival of the Holidays Exclusive Merch

If you're a collector like me or maybe you like to do a little holiday shopping at Disney, then Epcot is the place to be. There were all sorts of exclusive stands filled with “Festival of the Holidays” exclusive merch, like ears, mugs, clothing, ornaments, and so much more! Get it while you can because this will be your only chance!

6. Yummy Holiday Treats

Epcot is all about eating and drinking, so you can expect a passport to eat holiday treats around the world! You'll find a little something delicious at every place in the “world”. I couldn't help but to indulge a little myself.

7. The Best Photo Opps
